Categories Available at the School

Description of professional profiles authorized for screening and airport security activities

Category A1

Staff who screen passengers, carry-on baggage, items carried, and checked baggage.

Category A2

Personnel who screen goods and mail.

Category A3

Personnel who screen air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies, and airport supplies.

Category A4

Personnel who carry out vehicle inspections.

Category A5

Personnel who control access to an airport, as well as carry out surveillance and patrolling.

Category A6

Personnel who carry out aircraft safety inspections.

Category A7

Personnel responsible for the protection of the aircraft.

Category A8

Baggage reconciliation personnel (from the self-propelled air carrier and/or the handler).

Category A9

Personnel having uncontrolled access to identifiable air cargo or air mail that has been subjected to the required security controls and personnel carrying out security controls other than screening on cargo and mail.

Category A10

Personnel performing security checks other than screening of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies, and airport supplies.

Category A11

Personnel who provide direct supervision of those carrying out security checks (supervisors).

Category A12

Personnel with overall responsibility at the national or local level for ensuring that a safety program and its implementation meet all regulatory requirements.

Category A13

Personnel other than passengers who must access sterile areas without escort.

Category A14

Staff requiring general security awareness training.

Category A15

Flight and cabin crew members who implement in-flight safety measures.

Category A16

Personnel having administrator rights or unrestricted, uncontrolled access to information and communications technology data and systems critical to civil aviation.

Issuance of Airport Pass for Sterile Area Access

Our courses, available in both Italian and English, can be attended online or in the classroom and allow the issuance of the airport ID card required to access the sterile areas of Italian airports.

International Standards

Training courses must be organized and delivered by certified instructors. JESTER delivers courses signed by ENAC certified instructors.

Responsability

It is the responsibility of the Company to which they belong to ensure that their employees participate in safety courses, which are an essential prerequisite for issuing the badge.

Validity

Our airport security courses for Sterile Area Access are valid at all Italian airports and are delivered both in-class and online.

Reference Regulations

Community legislation, and in particular EC Regulations 300 of 11.3.2008 and 1998 of 5/11/2015, require that persons other than passengers who need to access sterile areas must receive security training before obtaining an entry pass to the sterile area of the airport.

National legislation and in particular the provisions of the National Security Program, issued by the Interministerial Committee for Security, require that airport personnel must be initially trained and periodically updated and that a certificate of participation be issued at the end of the course.
